DESCRIPTION: The project, begun in 1996, is a long-term study of hummingbirds that nest in or migrate through the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area. Birds are mist-netted and banded during 2-hour sessions at weekly intervals from April through September to obtain information on longevity, breeding status and seasonal movement of up to 10 species of hummingbirds that are resident, migratory or transient in the San Pedro Valley.
